Civil law is a fundamental branch of legal systems that deals with disputes between individuals, organizations, or entities, typically involving private rights and obligations.
Unlike criminal law, which focuses on offenses against the state, civil law governs relationships between individuals and seeks to provide remedies for harm or injury caused by one party to another.
Civil law is the part of a country’s set of laws which is concerned with the private affairs of citizens, for example marriage and property ownership, rather than with crime.
It deals with behavior that constitutes an injury to an individual or other private party, such as a corporation. Examples are defamation (including libel and slander), breach of contract, negligence resulting in injury or death, and property damage.
The most important types of civil law deal with
1) Contracts 2) Property
3) Family relations 4) Civil wrongs causing physical injury or injury to property
